MY STORY

My philosophy and approach to counseling have been shaped through personal experience and my own journey of therapy.  Starting at a young age, I experienced how unhealthy relationships can have adverse effects on well-being and happiness.  It took a few tries to find a therapist who was the right fit for me. I had been feeling disconnected for quite some time, but when I would walk through the door of my therapist’s office, I felt like I could connect with lost parts of my self.  The safety I found in the therapeutic relationship gave me strength to get through some of my most difficult times. In my work, I strive to provide clients with the safety and guidance I was fortunate to experience in my own therapy.

eDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology with a minor in Applied Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  I received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from John F. Kennedy University. I have experience studying romantic relationships in a research lab and educating youth on dating abuse and healthy relationships for the What Is Love Organization.  I value the importance of ongoing education and training and consistently strive to enhance my clinical knowledge and practice.
